Window into my world.

For the past 2 days this is all I've done.

I've taken breaks only to eat and go to the bathroom.  Yesterday I had lunch at Larosa's with my best friends Lauren and Liz, then dinner with Brian, Steph, and Zach at Cheescake Factory.  All day today though I've been here at the dinner table (because my craft room table is covered in junk) painting.

(forgive my phone photos. Far too busy to properly photograph!)

This is my last week for this quarter so I might be MIA on the internet.  I have one more page of 5 outfits to watercolor paint.  I have to finish my Experimental Designs (sewing).  I also have to make and give an eco textiles presentation, and I have to take my marketing final exam.

I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Wish me luck.

Wardrobe- late

I took these first two photos on Saturday after Brian and I shopped all day!  they're lit by his bedroom lamps so, I hope that explains the funky lighting.

sweater- hand me down from Mom- Old Navy
Necklace- Handmade by me :)
vintage shorts- thrifted
heart tights- F21 also seen here
otk boots- Chinese Laundry via Piperlime seen here

The last few are from Monday.  It's been cold here since Sunday and I absolutely hate it.  Today is super crappy because it's in the 30s and rainy. :(  Either way I have been bundling a bit more trying to stay warm.  I feel less creative with my outfits when it's cold and it really bums me out.

tee- TJ Maxx also worn here
cargo skinnies- Old Navy last winter clearance
shoes- not shown but black and white polka dot flats from Wally World
necklace- Vintage first shown here

I did some more Christmas shopping today and bought myself a clearance hat ($4.99) and heels ($9.99) from Urban!  Stay warm.  Happy Thanksgiving, and happy shopping :)

Dropping in

I'm just dropping in to share how amazing these shoes are!!!!
Size 6. Ugh, curse you size 9 feet.
Then again they're $300, and I'd be heartbroken even more if they were my size.

I've meant to make today an all day homework fest.  I have hardly gotten anything done.  Other than that I've been considering a blog makeover?  I've made it over like 3 times since I started blogging about a year and a half ago.  I've never fallen in love with it in totality.  I think I need to actually put some planning and thought into it if I do.  I feel like I for sure need a new banner.  I love the current one, but I think I should make one that's more about my fashion design stuffs.  We shall see!

I must get back to work now though because as soon as my school stuff is finished I can start on my special project!!!  Fabric above is for that project!  I think I'll be allowed to announce my winter co-op and my special project soon!

Thanks for dealing with my ramblings :)
xoxo, Mallory!

Cape Cuteness

If had enough money to buy fabric and supplies for whatever project I wanted to work on.  There are a few things I would make for myself right away.  Wool for a cape like this Dear Creatures one is at the top of my fabric wishlist:

It's so cuteee!  I designed a great cape for a collection I drew about a month ago for my paper doll project.  I haven't scanned any of that project though since my teacher is STILL grading it.  That's okay though because she's adorable.  She worked as an illustrator for a fashion magazine in Paris in the 1970s.  How amazing is that?  She's so fascinating, I want her to be my best friend :)

Back to the post at hand though, I am broke and cannot afford things.  My mom still needs to take me shopping for a birthday gift.  She likes to do that so she can get time with me out of my gift.  That's okay though since I enjoy spending time with her, gift or not.

Going to the Old Spaghetti Factory with Brian soon.  Btw Brian now has a tumblr in case you're interested in seeing what a man version of me has to share.

We make nerdy look good.

I went to the Harry Potter premier last night at midnight.  I won't give any spoilers but I will tell you that it was absolutely AMAZING.  It is the only movie where I haven't said, oh they missed so and so part. YAY!

Thumbs up on being excited!

Lauren and I both have fake smiles here, but we have some sweet Gryffindor shirts!
Tara, Matt, and Lauren.

Lots more people went but these are the only phone pictures that were taken, and I haven't uploaded my camera pictures yet.  So, I may add some more photos later :)

Must pay attention in class now. xoxo

Beary Cozy Coffee!

I think this is bear coffee cozy is too cute.  Maybe a bit too much?  Who cares, it's cute!  They have a lot of great color combos!

Cute!! I've been meaning to make a coffee cozy for a while!  Maybe I'll make some once school is out. Two weeks left!

Thifting jackpot wishes

If I ever found one of these at a thrift store I would die with excitement:

It's a Fisher Price 1970s record player.  It only plays it's own nursery rhyme records and there's a little slot in the back to hold them all as well as a handle to carry it around!  I had one when I was younger, and I assume my mom sold it in a yard sale at some point.  Lately though I've noticed that JCPenney and a few other stores are selling reproductions of it.

Still not the same to me.  Maybe I should comb the deep crevices of the storage room to see if it's still there.  I would seriously scream with happiness.  Someone here in Cinci is selling one on Craigslist if anyone (hahemmm sisters and Brian) want to buy it for me for Christmas!

Big day tomorrow, wish me luck!

I have my experimental muslins due tomorrow.
I may be up late tonight.

Geek Moment!

Okay, so I totally intend on going to bed after I post this...
EEEKKKK!!!! HP7 Premier!
Thursday night (technically Friday) I will be seeing it, too!

LONDON, ENGLAND - NOVEMBER 11: (PHOTO BY DAVE M. BENETT/GETTY IMAGES REQUIRED) (L to R) Actors Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe attend the World Premiere of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 at Odeon Leicester Square on November 11, 2010 in London, England.

Felling Inspired!

Christmas is coming!  I've bought about half of my gifts already.  It seems like most of the blogosphere is jumping straight from Halloween to Christmas, and I'm totally okay with that!  It makes hearing singing Christmas trees at stores a little bit better.  Speaking of nifty trees I want a pink Christmas tree like this when I get my own place.  When I do get a real place though it'll more than likely be a shared one with sir Brian and I'm sure he won't want a pink tree so I suppose I could go for a pretty blue tree like this.

What else has inspired me?  Oh, I'm glad you wondered.  I babysat my cousins and their neighbors tonight.  I saw that my Aunt Helen had out all of her photos including the old ones she stole from Grandma.  Once the kids were settled down watching Shrek I took some photos of my favorite old photos.  There were some really great ones of my grandma, Shirley.  She was really pretty.  She has a natural marcel wave in her hair, and I wonder how I got screwed with such straight boring brown hair.

I took this one on my phone, and haven't uploaded the others from my camera yet.
Once I do you'll be the first ones to see!  Now, I'm going to go to bed ridiculously early for a Saturday, so I can get an early start on homework in the morning!  If I finish early maybe I'll do some long awaited thrifting?

xoxo, Mallory

Style Icon Thursday- Jonathan Adler

I was going to post this last night, but I had some technical difficulties.
I usually feature fashion icons on Thursday, as I mentioned last night I adore Jonathan Adler!  He's mod, modern, and eclectic without being too hodge podge or conversely, too stark.

All photos from his site.

I have to clock in at work now.
